I just noticed this post on our front page, though it's already 4 days old, and thought some of you might be interested.

"Hello!
I was wondering if a member of the Group was willing to help me with a project. The project is to drape a complete outfit that is not made of fabric. The reason why I need help is I do not have all the funds to create NINE complete outfits during this semester!

If they wish to help me they get to create the design and KEEP the outfit!:3
In return for covering the cost of materials and the shipping the garment out to them.

Requirements:
The garment must be made completely out of ANYTHING but fabric.
The size of the garment is limited to woman's size 6-14 or Man's size 40 Wolf professional Dress form. (their are a limited number of forms, I can't promises your size)
It is due by March and if you wish to wait for your garment I can put it in the school's Fashion Show on May 5 and give you credit!

Note me if anyone is interested! :D "

Our Affiliate group Eco-Couture is hosting a challenge!:eager:

"I'm starting to revive :iconeco-couture:, and am starting off with a challenge that I'm opening to all our affiliates. :)

This challenge is to design either repurposed clothing or fashion illustrations with the Spring 2011 Fashion Color report Pantone released this month. The club journal is here - eco-couture.deviantart.com/blo…
This includes a link to the color report as well.

I'm also looking for someone with CSS experience to design a new blog layout for the club. Details are in the linked blog entry above. Let me know if you have any questions. :) Have a great weekend!"

If you are interested, please visit eco-couture.deviantart.com/blo… for all the info or contact DarkFireRaven or me, and I'll pass on your questions.

Here's an extremely simple project for all you crafty recyclers:

www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects…

Great for getting rid of those pesky fabric scraps that are too small to be of much use (not to mention water bottles )
----------------

We've been running for awhile now, but nothing much goes on in our group other than occasional submissions. Which got me thinking. We are a group promoting eco-friendly fashion/upcycling, and our members are obviously interested in that topic. Why not post instructions for simple projects? I realize that there aren't many of us here, but I'd like to start posting DIY projects like the one above once or twice a month for all of you. If anyone has any upcycling tutorials they'd like to contribute or want featured here send the group a note with a link to the project.
I'd like to get a little more in-depth than the link above; possibly have a "simple", "medium", and "expert and/or time-consuming" post in each blog entry.
They won't all be from Cut Out + Keep (although that is one of my favourite on-line communities. If you haven't checked it out, please do! www.cutoutandkeep.net )
What do you guys think? Any feedback would be welcome (:
